Mapping Your Curriculum.

Butterfly Body Bright is a strength-based, prevention focused program that has been specifically designed for Australian primary schools.

The Body Bright curriculum has been designed to align with the Australian Health and Physical Education Curriculum (ACARA v9.0) and the NSW, VIC and WA variations. However,
due to the topics and activities included, lessons also align well with literacy and STEM areas of the curriculum.

  • Curriculum lesson plans have been developed for students in Foundation to Year 6.

  • They provide age-appropriate discussions and activities that address the six Body Bright themes: Brave, Resilient, Inclusive,Grateful, Thoughtful and Happy.

  • Lesson plans have been developed in conjunction with leading experts and reviewed by the project’s Educator Reference Group and Advisory Group.

  • A number of the lessons have also been trialed in education settings to ensure their usability in the classroom.

Lessons have been designed to be flexible so, once staff have completed the online staff training, they may choose to deliver Body Bright lessons over a week, a term or the entire school year.

See our PREVIEW PACK for an outline of the Body Bright Curriculum and HPE alignment.
